Accessibility
Last updated 26 September 2026
We want everyone in the family to be able to use Family Me, including people with disabilities. This page says what we have done, what still falls short and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.
The standard we work to
Family Me aims to meet Israeli Standard 5568, which follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA, as the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations require.
What we have done
Across the app, in English and in Hebrew:
- Everything can be reached with the keyboard, with a visible ring on whatever has focus. Lists you can reorder by dragging can also be reordered with the keyboard.
- Buttons, fields and icons carry names a screen reader can read, and each page states its language and reading direction, so Hebrew is read right to left.
- Text and controls are checked for colour contrast in both the light and the dark theme.
- Pages fit a screen 320 pixels wide, as at 400% zoom, without scrolling sideways.
- If your device asks for less motion, animations stop and the film on the home page waits for you to press play.
What still falls short
Documents your family uploads are shown as they are. A scan or a photo may not be readable by a screen reader; you can ask the assistant about it in the chat, and it answers in text.
The film on the home page has music and words on screen but no narration; the page around it describes the same things in words.
We have checked every page with automated accessibility tests and with the keyboard. We have not yet had it reviewed by people who use screen readers or other assistive technology every day, and we would be glad to hear from you if you do.
Tell us
If something in Family Me is hard to use, or you need information in another way, write to us at familyme.team@gmail.com. Say which page and what happened, and we will answer and fix what we can.
